Counseling Associate
Ince Counseling is currently looking for a Counseling Associate to join our team. This is a contract based position requiring a 15+ hour/week commitment. Education & Qualifications:
Master’s Degree, or higher advanced degree.
Licensed in professional discipline in DC or VA , or seeking post degree supervision (with exception of LPCs applying for license via state of VA). LGSW, LCSW, LICSW and LCSW-C accepted.
Possess 2 yrs. experience providing professional counseling services to include providing diagnosis, use of multiple therapeutic interventions and approaches, and experience developing treatment plans, preferred (case management excluded).
Experience completing biopsychosocials, conducting various assessments, and entering timely progress notes.
Able to work a flexible schedule- evenings and weekends to meet patient needs.
HIPAA/Privacy Act qualified. (Documentation Required within 5 days of start date)
Possess experience effectively communicating both orally and in written format; will be providing professional responses to external entities and lead educational workshops on behalf of Ince Counseling when tasked.
Possesses excellent organizational skills, with a demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks independently, and work collaboratively on group projects.
Prior education and past experience with trauma informed interventions and approaches.
Demonstrated basic math skills/Data entry and computer skills
Familiarity with Square, and other POS products
Assists in coordinating internal and external events, including outreach campaigns.
Experience with electronic medical record maintenance; HIPAA/Privacy Act Compliance a preferred.
Able to pass a mandatory Criminal Background Check (FBI and state) due to the sensitive nature of the position.
Able to pass mandatory Child Abuse Background/Sexual Registry Checks.
Ability to work independently- self starter to support a growing practice.

Provide cleared PPD test.
Able to endure annual Flu Shot- or provide medical documentation otherwise.
Provide documentation reflecting recent Ethics/Risk Management training.
Able to obtain/maintain Malpractice Insurance (policy required prior to start date)
Willingness to provide services via EAP programs.
Willingness to engage mandatory on call duty 1 week per month with on call pay.
Willingness to pursue training associated with integrative medical diagnosis and awareness (will discuss further)
Must be a self-starter with business acumen.
Responsibilities/Duties:
Admin duties related to intake process.
Contact primacy care physicians, psychiatrists, and other specialists to request patient medical record information, and/or make notification of therapeutic involvement.
Facilitate individual and co-joint therapeutic sessions.
Participate in consultations, case conferencing and peer reviews.
Use only approaches and modalities in which she/he has received proper training/certification.
Develop a professional rapport with both internal staff/contractors, and external professional offices (Primary Care, Psychiatry, and other stakeholders), while conducting business on behalf of Ince Counseling.
Enter contact data into the appropriate Electronic Medical Records System and Privacy Logs in compliance with the Privacy Act when information is released to clients, or shared with other offices (with prior approval of director, or Privacy Officer).
Participate in workshop events, presentations, and marketing activities on behalf of Ince Counseling.
Maintain compliance with HIPAA/ Privacy Act Training and protocol.
Survey Clients (via tools such as Survey Monkey).
Attend staff meeting bimonthly (TBA), use of Skype/Zoom may be permitted when deemed appropriate.
Complete relevant training, when tasked, to support business needs, and or compliance with state, local and federal laws and regulations.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to sit for 50 mins- hour to engage talk therapy sessions, or workshops.
May be required to stand for short periods, 50 minutes to an hour, to lead educational workshops and presentations.
Light lifting and carrying (less than 15 lbs)

Student Practitioner - Clinical Internship
You've completed the core coursework involved with becoming a clinician, however, you are unsure of the population, area, or approach you'd like to implore as you begin building your tool kit, all in hopes of establishing your own clinical practice someday. Perhaps you're not certain whether clinical work is the direction you plan to travel initially. Ince Counseling is offering students an opportunity to gain real world experience within an exclusive market, to gain experience partnering with our diverse clientele- while also gaining academic credit, and possibly hours to propel you along your path towards full licensure. Though your internship with Ince Counseling you will be have opportunities to:
Gain additional knowledge and experience of various therapeutic approaches and interventions
Engage in research on topics associated with cutting edge best practice methods/models
Gain exposure through conference and other educational opportunities to expand your repertoire and therapeutic perspectives
Engage in community outreach and collaborate with stakeholders
Co-create and co-facilitate workshops of interest
Begin defining your brand and narrowing your specialization
Learn to market your skill set
Gain knowledge about running a clinical practice/small business
Gain clinical experience, with supervision, via our Pro Bono Initiatives
Obtain both individual and group supervision
Gain academic credit, and in some cases, gain hours along your path to full licensure.
Criteria:
Currently pursuing Masters Degree, or higher via an accredited academic institution.
GPA 3.0 or higher.
Completed clinical coursework, inclusive of CBT.
Completed group practice coursework.
Completed course work on how to use the DSM 5/Diagnosis
Completed trauma informed course work/workshops
Possess a minimum of 2 years work history supporting individuals, families and/or systems with a focus on diverse backgrounds, sexual orientations, cultures, and perspectives.
Obtain and maintain malpractice insurance.
Able to pass FBI level background check.
Able to pass Child Abuse background check.
TB test required before commencement of internship.
Annual flu vaccination is mandatory.
Must be a self starter.
Must maintain a professional presentation at all times.
Must be able to engage the internship 10 hrs per week, including some evenings and weekends.
